Laundry Saturday

This how it is.

This morning Wolf is working and I am buried in mounds of laundry.
We leave in a little while to go stay with my parents
and somehow the act of finding clothes for the children
is proving impossible.

We need church attire.....

which would be buried in a basket because my washroom
(that is actually the entire area of the mid-remodel side of the house)
is just kind of covered in clothes.

I mean they're halfway sorted---
but, that whole space lends itself to chaos.

So I am, you might say, going to war this morning.
Battling the sock fiends and the towel gremlins
that seek to smother me in their dank and crusty embrace.

Eww.

I am definitely talking Wolf into
taking me to Chef Lee's for lunch.

I love their traveler totes! And I learned that 2.5 million bottles get thrown out in the US, every minute. That's pretty awful...

I've just had my first (natural childbirth - hurrah!) and am nursing him until he's done, and plan to have many more children. I've never been concerned about my body shape, size, stretchiness, sag, etc, before, but want to make sure to take good care of it, so realize the importance of using these fantastic products to put and keep everything in some sort of shape.

It seems like I'm destined to have just boys, but they can still look beautiful in the Soft White Eyelet with Satin Trim.
I'm a sucker for eyelet.

Totally swaddled my boys until they grew out of their receiving blankets. My firstborn's eyes would start fluttering with sleep as soon as I tucked his first arm in.

We called him the 'burrito baby'.

Do you see?

Pixie One Year Ago.

Do you see the sky, my baby?
The big blue sky?
Soft and cloudless.
If we fell into it, like a deep river--we wouldn't sink,
we would float.
We would float in the soft blue sky.

Do you see the leaves, my baby?
The green shining leaves?
It would be no stretch for our imagination
to see them as faceted emeralds.
Light hitting one side to glow white-the other remains green.
How they sparkle and dance above us.

Do you see the sun, my baby?
The bright and singing sun?
It is much to big to carry
and our eyes cannot contain it.
Look away and its shoulder
will still warm you.
Rubbing our backs
with a feverish motherly hand.

Here my baby, here.
Lie beside me in the sea of grass
while we stare up into God's Blue Eye.

Introducing Plan Toys

Plan Toys Green Dollhouse

Wouldn't THIS be a fabulous gift for a tiny eco-tot?
I've recently discovered the absolute beauty that is Plan Toys
--and am pretty crazy about them.

Reading their company values just made me happy:)
Happy that there are still people in the world who CARE.
Their products are designed to not only protect the environment,
but protect our little ones rights to a beautiful childhood--
full of simplicity and joy.
Their Wooden Toys are designed to foster creativity and imagination.

Then I found this adorable video from Oompa
that I just hade to share with you--
as it really gives a great overview of this
wonderful toy company that offers
such sweet Educational Playthings:)

*I am in no way affiliated
with Oompa toys-
I simply enjoyed their video
about this wonderful
eco-friendly company.
Also I was not
compensated for this post
in any way.

Baby Wearing Tuesday: Late Night Musings

*tout est des brides de bébé*
(and we like that)

One of the best uses I have found for our baby sling
is pre and post nap wear.
When I realize its getting near Pixies naptime,
rather than attempt to hold her down
and rock her wiggly little body in her nursery chair,
I'll swing her up inside our sling.
The natural swaying of my own movement
normally puts her right to sleep
--and then I can go gently place her in her bed.
When she wakes up,
she is normally feeling aggravated with the world,
and likes to be held for at least 45 minutes
before she can function again.
(taking after her Momma--not the greatest morning person)

Babywearing gives me the option
of just tucking her in and taking her with me.
VOILA'-- happy bébé.

Like having an extra pair of arms.
(oh rapture, joy, and bliss)

Babywearing Tuesday:
Sad Sweet Goodbye to Sling #1

Fed Ex was scheduled to pick up
our first Sakura Bloom sling
this morning.
The mission was simple:
Leave the box on the front porch for him to find.

Pixie thought it would be WAY more fun
to keep pounding her wee fists against the window pane
until I let her go back out and put the box in a "better spot".
That box sat in just about every space imaginable
before a bewildered Fed-Ex fellow
was finally handed our box by a fairy-wing clad 1 year old.

I think perhaps it made his day.

A conversation in generosity:
Shall we discuss something dreamy?

I really love DreamSacks .

They are committed to offering their customers
the most planet-friendly products possible.

Their clothing is perfect to wear anywhere.

Wears like comfortable, luxurious couture;
but feels like angel-wing jammies.

(Seriously, if you were an angel...
you would flit about in your gilded wings
and DreamSacks tunic:)

DreamSacks
sent me several outfits
to wear to the Type A Mom conference
I was comfortable enough
to dart about meeting the lovely ladies there,
--my clothes never bunched, wrinkled or creased--
and I never felt under, nor over dressed.

Could DreamSacks be
the world's most perfect clothing?
Perhaps:)

The above is the dress I wore
to my speaker dinner in Asheville.
(Isis Maxi Dress)
Aside from being worn to fancy soiree's,
it is also perfect for frolicking in the forest
in an elfish manner:)

Please visit DreamSacks
and see all of the many organic basics they carry.
I promise you,
they're the softest clothes you'll ever wear.

-Sara Sophia

*although this company
was kind enough to sponsor clothing for an event,
I would never recommend a company to you
that I didn't already love.
And I do, I LOVE them.
So much so, that I am asking Santa
for their short knit robe in black
for Christmas:)

...and I leave you with Cummings.

who knows if the moon's a balloon, coming out of a keen city in the sky---filled with pretty people? (and if you and I should
get into it, if they
should take me and take you into their balloon, why then
we'd go up higher with all the pretty people

than houses and steeples and clouds:
go sailing
away and away sailing into a keen
city which nobody's ever visited, where

always
it's Spring) and everyones
in love and flowers pick themselves.
